QUESTIONS

Till and floor

The floor plan, rounds, payment, cash-up and how waiters work.

Does it work with my existing till?

It does. If you take ordering only, you ring up the fiscal receipt on your own till as before. You can add our till later.

How much does the till cost?

The till and floor plan are an add-on with the Plus or PRO plan, 4.990 RSD a month. An additional till in the same venue goes by the fiscal partner’s price list, with no margin of ours.

Do I need new hardware?

The till runs on a tablet or computer you already have, and waiters use their own phones. The fiscal device and the secure element are obtained by the restaurant through ePorezi.

How does a waiter get into the system?

The till at the bar is always signed in. The waiter signs with a six-digit PIN or taps a card, and works only with their own bills.

What if a waiter gets a round wrong?

They ask for the item to be taken off, and the manager or the owner approves from a phone. Every change stays on record with a name and a time.

Do waiters need a special device?

No. They work on their own phones, in the browser, with nothing to install. Apps for iPhone and Android are coming to the stores soon.

Which plan includes the waiter on a phone?

It is part of the Till and floor plan add-on, with the Plus or PRO plan, 4.990 din a month.

What if the phone loses the internet in the middle of a round?

The round the waiter entered is kept on the phone and sends itself when the connection is back. The kitchen gets it as soon as it arrives.

How does the waiter know the food is ready?

When the kitchen marks the round as ready, a notification reaches the waiter whose table it is. The phone also shows the status of every round: received, being prepared, ready.

Can I draw the table layout myself?

Yes. In the editor you place tables, the bar, walls and doors, and keep the dining room, the garden or an upper floor as separate rooms. You can change the layout in the middle of a shift too, and open bills stay on their tables.

What can a waiter do from a phone?

They see the room, open a table, enter a round and send it to the kitchen and the bar. They see the table’s bill and can ask for a wrong item to be taken off or for someone else’s table. Payment is taken at the till.

How can guests split the bill?

In two ways. By item: you mark what each person pays for, part of a quantity too, and the rest stays open on the table. Or per person: the bill is divided by the number of guests and an amount is charged, not items.

Can one bill be paid partly in cash and partly by card?

It can. You choose “Split” and enter how much goes in cash, and the rest goes on the card. In the cash-up, cash and cards are kept separately.

Can a waiter give a discount at the till?

They can, up to a percentage you set yourself; the default is 10%. Above that a manager approves with their PIN. A discount is a percentage or an amount, on an item or the whole bill, always with a reason, and it shows in the cash-up.

How is a bill that has already been paid voided?

You void the whole bill or one payment, with a reason. The owner and the manager do it themselves, and a waiter with the manager’s PIN on the device. At the void you choose whether the goods go back into stock, and the bill stays closed, marked as voided.

How do I record a drink or a dish on the house?

You close the bill as on the house. It asks for a manager’s PIN and a reason: a guest of the house, a complaint, staff or other. An internal slip is printed, and the amount has its own line in the cash-up.

Can I charge for something that is not on the menu?

You can, as an open item: you type the name and the price by hand, and it goes on the ticket, the bill and into the reports. Up to an amount you set the waiter enters it alone, and above that a manager approves with their PIN.

Which payment methods does the till record?

Cash, card, a payment split between cash and card, and on the house. With the eFakture add-on a bill can also go to a company, on an invoice. Vouchers are not entered.

What does the cash-up show at the end of a shift?

Cash, cards, on-the-house bills, discounts, voids and items taken off with the name of the person who approved, closed and open bills. It is viewed by waiter, shift or day, and a closed cash-up is printed with room for the signatures of handing over and receiving.

Is the cash counted at the cash-up?

Yes. Before closing you enter the counted cash, by denomination or as a total. The system shows a shortage or a surplus against the report and asks for the reason for the difference. A shift with open bills cannot be closed.

We work past midnight. Which day do the takings belong to?

To the day that began. In the cash-up the business day runs from 06:00 to 06:00, so bills paid at one in the morning stay in that evening’s takings.

Can I have several tills in the same venue?

You can. Several devices work at the same time on the same bills, and each sees all open bills. All are signed in with the same till account, and the waiter’s PIN or card shows who did what.

How is a new till or kitchen screen connected to the venue?

In the settings you create a code that is valid for 5 minutes and only once. On the device you choose “Device”, enter the code and say whether it is a till or a kitchen. A lost or stolen device is revoked from the same settings.

What may a waiter do with a card, and what only with a PIN?

A card opens a bill, sends a round and takes over someone else’s table. Approving an item being taken off and a void ask for the six-digit PIN, because a card can be lent or copied. The card is tapped on a reader beside the till.

Can a worker record arriving for a shift at the till?

They can. On the till’s lock screen they choose “Arrival and departure” and enter their PIN or tap their card. An arrival cannot be recorded from a personal phone. The attendance overview is part of shifts, in the PRO plan.

How is a table reservation entered?

From the floor plan: you pick a table and enter the name, phone, date and time, number of guests and a note. The table colours itself on the plan two hours before the time, and a second reservation of the same table less than 90 minutes apart is refused.

Can I move guests to another table or join two tables?

You can. “Move table” moves the bill to a free table, and “Join tables” adds a table from the same room, together with its bill if it has one. When one of the tables is someone else’s, a colleague’s approval is needed.

More: Till and dining room

How does a waiter hand a table over to a colleague when their shift ends?

The table is moved to another waiter with “Transfer table”. A colleague can also ask for the table themselves: a notice goes to the waiter whose table it is and to the managers, and whoever answers first decides.

Can a bill be opened without a table, for the bar or to take away?

It can. A bill is opened for a table, for the bar or to take away, and all three are entered and paid in the same way.

Does a program have to be installed on the till?

It does not; the till also runs in a browser. The app for Windows, Linux and macOS adds silent printing with no print window, opening the cash drawer and working when the internet goes down, and it remembers the sign-in after a restart.

More: Till and dining room

Which printer do I need for receipts and tickets?

A thermal printer with an 80 or 58 mm roll, installed on the computer that runs our app. You choose a printer for each document, so the receipt, the delivery slip and the bar ticket can come out on different printers. Printing is silent, with no print window.

More: Till and dining room

How is the ticket printed when a waiter sends a round from a phone?

A phone and a tablet have no printer, so the job goes to the computer that runs our app and has the printer for that document. That computer has to be switched on. A job that waits longer than 10 minutes is not printed, so old tickets do not come out late.

More: Till and dining room

Does the till open the cash drawer?

Yes, in the desktop app. The drawer is connected to the receipt printer and opens by itself when cash is taken on that computer. It is switched on in the printer settings.
