QUESTIONS

Getting started, equipment and support

How you start, which devices you need and who helps you.

How soon can I start?

In 24 hours. You send the menu, a phone photo will do, and we enter the dishes, photos and prices and set up the site and the QR.

Is support really 24/7?

Yes. A venue works at weekends and at night too, so support is available at the same times. For urgent matters, call the phone number.

Which equipment do I have to buy to get started?

For ordering and the kitchen the phone and tablet you already have are enough, and the kitchen screen also runs on a television with a browser. You need a thermal printer only if you print tickets and labels.

Which printer can I use?

A thermal printer with 80 or 58 mm paper, connected to the computer that runs the garlic.rs desktop app. The cash drawer opens through it too. Rounds from phones and from the kitchen print on that same computer.

Is there a garlic.rs program for a computer?

There is an app for Windows, macOS and Linux. It opens the same portal as a browser and adds printing without a dialog, the cash drawer, kiosk mode and a till that keeps working when the internet goes. Everything else runs in an ordinary browser too.

Which languages does garlic.rs work in?

In Serbian and English: the staff portal, the guest site and the phone app. The first visit is always in Serbian, and the language changes with one choice. There are no other languages.

Whose are the guest and order data?

Yours. For orders, guests and staff the venue is the data controller, and garlic.rs only processes the data on your behalf and on your instructions. A guest’s record at your venue is seen only by your venue.

What do I get when I export my data, and can I do it myself?

You can do it yourself. Under Settings, on the Subscription page, the owner downloads one ZIP of CSV files for Excel: orders and their items, bills, payments, discounts, guests and the menu.

Where is the data kept, and are there backups?

The data is on servers in Germany, and a backup of the database is made every night. Passwords and PINs are not kept in readable form, only as an irreversible hash.

Which kinds of venue is garlic.rs for?

For fast food, a restaurant, a café and a bar, and there is also a site type for catering and for a daily menu. A pizzeria or a food truck use the same parts: the ordering site, the kitchen screen and, if needed, the till.
